ABOUT KRISTIN
Kristin is a multi-degreed, multi-career and multi-sport
athlete. Basically, a Jill of all Trades, master of none – in her words - except for the Masters in Nutrition from Simmons.
Kristin finally settled on a career and a man.
Formerly the Director of Nutrition at Eastpointe Rehab and Skilled Care
Center in Chelsea, she has now begun a new position as the lead Registered Dietician at three facilities in Malden and Melrose
managed by Golden Living. She is psychically rewarded daily by interacting and
guiding her patients to nutritional health.
Professional continuing education requirements keep
her academically challenged and fulfill her deep thirst for knowledge.
Athletically, she is a “Tri-Chick”
(her words) and has completed 2 Ironman Triathlons (Lake Placid 2005 and Louisville 2007 - where she holds the Team Psycho
course record), multiple short course and running events as well as 6 marathons. Steve is attempting to break her of her multi-personality
(others some would say schizophrenic multi-sport training) --- to follow his focus on cycling.
Kristin grew up in Wilmington
and lived in before settling in Amesbury to take over— she means share -- Steve’s walk in closet.
ABOUT STEVEN
Steve is also a multi-talented and multi-degreed finance
professional with even more initials after his name than Kristin. Steve is a veteran mortgage banker who is presently building
his financial planning practice through Focus Capital Wealth Management. In addition to his graduate degree, he holds two
professional financial planning certifications including the Certified Financial Planning® designation.
(Studying for both of these last year proved time-consuming
and is the principal reason for his delay in asking Kristin to get married. That’s his story and he’s sticking
to it).
He is involved
in the Bentley College Graduate Alumni Association. At UMass-Lowell he is a member of the College of Management Science Dean’s
Advisory Board and serves as the chair of the College of Arts & Sciences Dean’s Advisory Board.
He is a member of several area professional and networking
groups and committees where he finds it hard to say no to a good cause or a catered meal. He can frequently be seen attending
the monthly meetings of the Merrimack Valley Estate Planning Council, the Merrimack Valley Venture Forum, the Greater Merrimack
Valley Human Resources Association, Boston E-Net and 128 Innovation Capital. (Attendance may lag a bit since now he’ll
have more of a reason to come home at night instead.)
Steve’s greatest passion (besides Kristin) is cycling.
He is an avid cyclist logging more than 4500 miles each year in club rides and long-distance cycling events. Steve is a member
of CCB, the masters racing team of the North Shore which rides out of Topsfield regularly. He represents the team as a Cat
4 racer where he protects the rear and on occasion actually finishes.
HOW WE MET
Technology brought us together. We each had friends who
had received an email invitation to attend a house party thrown by housemates known as "The Winchester Chicks." Our respective
friends (Kathy Martin for Steve and Michael Zocchi for Kristin) circulated the email to us. Steve arrived at the house party
first making small talk with some of the guests. Steve was on a phone call with his brother, Joe (International Man of Mystery),
and stepped out onto the back porch. While talking on the phone he spied a stunning blonde who had just walked into the kitchen
where the wine was. He quickly got off the phone and then approached his unsuspecting target and offered his very best impression
of a wine sommelier. The rest of the night went by in a whirl as she listened and laughed at his inane banter. He looked at
her leave the party and knew he had to meet her again because this was someone he could grow old with.
WHEN & WHERE May
25, 2008 Topsfield, MA
ABOUT THE BIG DAY: Simple,
elegant with a contemporary flair.
We chose to begin our journey in the quaint New England town of Topsfield, a place
that is familiar to us as part of our numerous bicycle journeys.
The ceremony was held at St Rose of Lima, a quaint
Roman Catholic Church in Topsfield.
Immediately following the ceremony guests were invited to
The Commons also in Topsfield.
Live music provided by The Knights (courtesy of NorthStar
Entertainment Agency) accompanied dinner and led to an outbreak of a very contagious dance fever afterward.
Following
a post-reception party at the Sheraton Ferncroft in Danvers, the Bride and Groom left for an extended trip to Rome, Tuscany
and Sorrento.
